Once again, the skies over Quechee and the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshrie will be filled with hot air ballons ushering in the 29th Annual Quechee Hot Air Balloon, Craft & Music Festival. Sponsored by the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce, this event welcomes visitors from all over New England. It is one of the longest running hot air balloon festivals in new England and continues to focus on family entertainment and fun.

            Our Vermont Institute of Natural Science staff and

            their ‘raptors’ put on a wonderful educational show

            Johnny Bishop and Jim Goodwin have a rich background

            in the world of blues.  Johnny says, “The first time I heard the blues

            I have never looked back.”  Lots of southern influence lending         

            a depth of blues that will please everyone

            If you haven’t seen these remarkable dogs and

            their trainers do unbelievable tricks, you need

            to be on hand for this performance

10:00   DON SHELDON & FRIENDS RETURN

10:45   WELLS & WOODHEAD

            Formerly Waldo & Woodhead, this duo is a zany, musical

            variety show featuring outrageous physical comedy and

            astounding juggling.  Another Festival favorite!

Noon    YANKEE CHANK

            Vermont musicians specializing in the traditional two-steps and

            waltzes played in dance halls and honky-tonks of Louisiana.  Certain

            to get your feet tapping!

1:00     BURLINGTON TAIKO GROUP

            All eyes and ears should be focused on this performance.  The Festival

            is indeed fortunate to have the opportunity to hear a world-class group such as these                   

            drummers.  Taiko is Japanese for ‘big drum’ and were originally developed in India for

            religious ceremonies.  Using a background of thunderous drums, graceful movement and colorful

            pageantry, Burlington Taiko provides a unique opportunity for entertainment and

            education.

            What a send off for the 2007 Festival!  This is a highly polish 6-piece group of dedicated

            pannists – they play a variety of Calypsos and Socas and an occasional “DAY-O”.  A festive,

            happy, danceable sound of the islands on the Quechee Village Green!
